Die cut shapes for card making

What are die cuts?

Die cut shapes are pieces of paper, cork board, fabric, or any other material that has been cut out by a die into a shape.  You can create the same shape, with the exact same dimensions, over and over without using scissors, stencils, or a craft knife. It saves time and makes your cut-out shapes look professional and consistent every time.

Do I need a die-cutting machine?

Die cutting machines or card making machines are machines that cut shapes out of paper, chipboard (like cardboard but thicker and more dense), fabric and other materials. These machines can sit on top of your crafting table or work space or can be stored in a small area and brought out when needed.

However, if you don’t have the space or budget to cut your own dies, you can simply buy die-cut shapes from a supplier such as Patch Corner Crafts.

What shapes can I get a die-cut in?

Whatever you can imagine, you can get a die-cut shape.  Perfect for general crafting or a special occasion for Christmas or Birthdays, a good Die-cut supplier should be able to provide you with any shape you can imagine (within reason!).  From Christmas die-cuts such as trees, snowmen, angels and presents, through to die-cut numbers for a special birthday card.  To see the full range of shapes, take a look at our die-cut shape categories.

At Patch Corner Crafts, we hand-cut all our shapes to your exact order, so you can customise your die cuts to your exact crafting requirements.

What can I make with die-cuts?

The only limit is your imagination!  Die cuts can help you create a professional finish to all of your card and paper craft projects.  Birthday cards, Christmas cards, Easter cards and even perhaps decorations.

Are die-cuts just for card making?

No, die-cuts are incredibly versatile and perfect for all your paper craft projects.  Think pictures, decorations, childrens crafting, boxes and more!
